From more basic campgrounds on the various river banks to resort campgrounds, these are a few local favorites to check out in Trempealeau County during your visit.

1. County & State Campgrounds

With a love for the great outdoors and outdoor recreation, Trempealeau County features several county and state campgrounds that offer relaxing, outdoor places to stay while you explore the area. Perrot State Park in Trempealeau, Wisconsin has a prime location on both the Mississippi and Trempealeau Rivers and an excellent campground with nearby trails, river views, ice, and firewood for sale. Perrot has 102 family campsites available for reservation, as well as four group campsites for large groups of up to 20 people.

Pietrek Park, located between Arcadia and Independence, is operated by Trempealeau County. This campground, on the banks of the Trempealeau River, has RV and tent campsites, a playground, two park shelters and areas to fish, hike, and recreate.

2. Campgrounds On Rivers

The Mississippi River, Black River, Trempealeau River, and many other creeks and waterways flow through Trempealeau County. Along many of these waterways are campgrounds throughout the county that are especially popular with people who are looking to easily get out on the water. Colonel Larson Park in Whitehall, WI has a number of campsites and is located right on the banks of the Trempealeau River. The park features places to get on the river, as well as a softball field, basketball and volleyball courts, a playground, and a picnic area, making it a great location for families who are looking to camp.

Riverside Memorial Campground in Blair is another campground on the Trempealeau River and Lake Henry. Campers can take advantage of the many recreational facilities here, plus a variety of sites for both tent and RV camping. Additionally, it is close to the municipal pool, restaurants, gas stations, shopping, and a grocery store.

3. Resort Campgrounds

Along with the more rustic and wilderness campgrounds, Trempealeau County has some resort campgrounds that offer a lot of amenities to campers. Crystal Lake Campground is located in Strum, Wisconsin on the gorgeous Crystal Lake. The campground features 42 attractive and well-maintained lakeside campsites with water, electrical, cable tv, and sewer hookups, a picnic table, and a fire ring. Campers can also enjoy the bathroom and shower facilities, boat landing, playground, basketball hoop, volleyball court, and nearby Buffalo River recreational trail.

Another great resort campground in Trempealeau County is Champions Riverside Resort in Galesville on the Black River. This campground truly has something for everyone, offering tent and RV campsites, cabins, bunkhouses, and more. There is also a long list of amenities for campers including but not limited to a dog park, swim pond, axe throwing, an on-site bar and grill and store, outdoor heated pool, wifi, a game room, and plenty of spaces for outdoor activities.
