Trempealeau County, WI (June 2021): In 2020, Trempealeau County received the Tourism Relief to Accelerate Vitality and Economic Lift (TRAVEL) Stimulus Grant, the campaign “Welcome to Trempealeau” Campaign “layed down the Welcome Mat” to visitors focusing on outdoor recreation that allowed for social distancing and encourages the welcoming feel of the area. Trempealeau County also saw the least decline in visitors over 72 counties in Wisconsin during 2020.
The 2020 campaign was highlighly successful seeing exponential growth in the County’s visitor-centric social media reach as well as building an email list of opt-in subscribers interested in learning more about what Trempealeau County has to offer with strong engagement rates. Combined with the digital advertising and released content, the campaign garnered nearly 200,000 impressions.
In 2021, Trempealeau County looks to capitalize on the TRAVEL grant campaign success and will be once more “laying down the welcome mat” and encouraging visitors to educate themselves on safe travel while the County will be promoting the variety of experiences that are covid safe, specifically focusing on outdoor recreation. The overarching “Welcome to Trempealeau” will be a tool to inform visitors about all the offerings of the area including places to stay, shops, dining establishments and more.
When visiting https://co.trempealeau.wi.us, visitors will discover opportunities to opt-in to a vacation sweepstakes and resources to plan their trip. The sweepstakes include an overnight stay, dining opportunities, and gifts from local businesses.
“It’s no accident that Trempealeau County saw the smallest pandemic decrease of visitors out of the 72 counties in Wisconsin! Our incredible mix of outdoor recreation opportunities and tourism attractions, coupled with the hospitality of folks that live and own businesses here, makes Trempealeau County an irresistible place for folks looking to have a fun and safe travel experience. We are so excited to welcome travelers as they continue to discover everything Trempealeau County has to offer!” said Rob Grover, Trempealeau Counties Economic Development and Tourism Coordinator.
The campaign runs through the end of the summer and is geared towards visitors within a drive market radius including Chicago, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, and Iowa.
