Trempealeau County Kicks off the “Welcome to Trempealeau County” Grant Funded Marketing Campaign!

Trempealeau County, WI (November 2020): Trempealeau County recently received the Tourism Relief to Accelerate Vitality and Economic Lift (TRAVEL) Stimulus Grant and will be kicking off  its “Welcome to Trempealeau County” Campaign that will be “laying down the Welcome Mat” to visitors focusing on outdoor recreation that allows for social distancing and encourages the welcoming feel of the area.

As the grant is required to be used for “promotion and support of  business activities and the steps taken to ensure a safe and healthy experience for travelers and resident consumers.” Trempealeau County encourages visitors to educate themselves on safe travel while the County will be promoting the variety of experiences that are covid safe, specifically focusing on outdoor recreation. The overarching “Welcome to Trempealeau County” will be a tool to inform visitors about all the offerings of the area including places to stay, shops, dining establishments and more.

When visiting https://co.trempealeau.wi.us , visitors will discover opportunities to opt-in to a vacation sweepstakes and resources to plan their trip. The sweepstakes includes an overnight stay, dining opportunities, and gifts from local businesses.

The campaign funded from the Wisconsin TRAVEL grant program will showcase area businesses located within Trempealeau County, with most offering curbside pick-up and feature those implementing Covid-19 safety protocols.

“Trempealeau County is an incredible place to live, work, and play, and we are excited for this campaign to be able to get that message out to an even wider audience” said sad Rob Grover, Trempealeau Counties Economic Development and Tourism Coordinator.

Trempealeau County received $5,823.00 from the TRAVEL Stimulus Grants. The money will be used for the vacation sweepstakes, e-news design and implementation, a digital partnership with River Travel Magazine, social campaign inclusion, winter outdoor recreation imagery, and digital advertising.

The marketing campaign runs through the end of the year and is geared towards visitors within a drive market radius including Chicago, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, and Iowa.

Wisconsin TRAVEL grant program

The goal of the Wisconsin TRAVEL grant program is to aid the recovery of local entities that promote tourism, which is one of Wisconsin’s largest industries and was hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. This grant is being offered in alignment with the Department of Tourism’s strategic imperative of driving economic impact by aiding in the state’s economic recovery.
