La Crosse Winter Roots Festival is an invitation to celebrate local and regional music, cuisine, artists, makers, brewers, and distillers from the greater La Crosse, Wisconsin. Taking place Saturday, February 11, 2023, this event will be held at the Riverside Ballroom at the La Crosse Center, right on the banks of the Mississippi River. La Crosse Winter Roots Festival is a great way to discover all the food, music and arts culture that the area has to offer.

La Crosse Winter Roots Festival Mission

Supporting local community artists, makers, and musicians, as well as giving back to the greater La Crosse area communities, La Crosse Winter Roots Festival is about celebrating the community in more ways than one. The event will connect community members and visitors with local talents from painters and crafters to bands and singer-songwriters to bakers and many more skilled individuals and small businesses in the area. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit The Hunger Task Force of La Crosse, which will be hosting various fundraising activities during the event including a silent auction and raffles.

Local Artists, Makers, and Musicians

Dedicated to celebrating artists, makers, and musicians; La Crosse Winter Roots Festival will feature local talents throughout the day. Festival goers can look forward to live music all day long with a lineup of seven local and regional bands. The live musical entertainment will feature regional favorites like Ryan Necci & The Buffalo Gospel, Chicken Wire Empire with Chris Castino, The Smokin Bandits, Phoenix, Knee-High July, The Lavender Project and popular local group, The Remainders. Ranging from hip-hop and rock to bluegrass and folk, there will be something for everyone to enjoy while checking out the Artist Market (20+ artists), the auction and raffles, and sampling “Wisconsin Favorites” in cuisine, local beer and spirits!

Featured Events

Running from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm, the La Crosse Winter Roots Festival will be an afternoon and evening full of entertainment, food, and drinks, but there are a few featured events festival goers won’t want to miss out on. The weekend will kick off with a special Friday Night Winter Roots “Ice Breaker” event at The Main – An Event Space, featuring the music of Nobody’s Dope. During the event, the Hunger Task Force will be hosting various fundraising activities during the event including a silent auction and raffles. There will also be 20+ artists and makers from around the region with products and goods on display, including La Crosse Local Podcast guest, Wisconsin Clothing Company. Early Entry admission will include a Bloody Mary Experience presented by La Crosse Distilling Co. and a special craft hour for Early Entry ticket holders.

La Crosse Winter Roots Festival goers can choose between buying general admission tickets and Early Entry tickets for the event. The Early Entry tickets include a Bloody Mary Experience presented by the La Crosse Distilling Co. featuring its special Winter Roots “Gazi” Black Lager & Bloody Mary’s (+ a commemorative glass)! Early Entry ticket holders also receive entry to the Friday Night Winter Roots “Ice Breaker” event and early access to the festival for a special craft hour and the ultimate La Crosse Winter Roots Festival event experience.

Event Details

La Crosse Winter Roots Festival will be held on February 11th, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Riverside Ballroom at the La Crosse Center.

Admission tickets can be purchased online. Purchase your tickets before February 11th for a pre-show discount, or the day of the event for full price. General admission tickets are $20.00 and Early Entry tickets are $30.00 up until February 10th, or $25.00 and $35.00 the day of the event.

Early Entry admission tickets will include a curated Winter Roots experience presented by the La Crosse Distilling Co. and early admission access at 12:00 pm. A portion of all ticket prices will benefit The Hunger Task Force of La Crosse.
