Visit and Celebrate Our National Rivers & The Great River Road!
Mississippi River, USA – April 13, 2021: River Travel Magazine is announcing the winners for the 2021 Best of The River contest at rivertravelmagazine.com, focusing on the Great River Road and rivers throughout the United States.
The survey included 75+ new categories focusing on the best attractions, accommodations, food & drink, and more. Thousands of visitors and locals nominated and voted on categories ranging from best barbeque (J & JBBQ & Catering – Nelson, WI), best extreme food, public art, museums, best interpretive center (National Eagle Center – Wabasha, MN), best music festival (Shipyard Music Festival – Cape Girardeau, MO), riverboat tours, and more.
New for 2021, is the “National River” Section of the survey where all river communities in the US were allowed to be nominated in a number of categories including best tubing (Apple River – Somerset,WI), best riverfront community (Clark Fork River – Missoula, MT), best river excursion (Salmon River – Salmon, ID), and more.
River Travel Magazine hopes the 2021 “Best of The River” results will shine a light on the valuable attractions, eateries, and accommodations along the Great River Road and throughout the rivers of the USA that have been under stress due to the Covid 19 Pandemic.
The Best of the River brings to the forefront our readers’ favorite places to visit from a hole-in-the-wall dive bar (yes that’s a category and it went to Tater’s Dam View in Alma, WI) to Best Burger (Durty Gurt’s in Galena, Il) to best Farm to Table Dining (Wilson Cafe in Wilson, AR). There is a wealth traveler’s advice and with the new National Edition of river travel spots like the best Riverfront Festival which went to the Savannah Music Festival in Savannah, GA, and the best Riverfront Community which was prized to Missoula, MT on the Clark Fork River, there are now even more ideas for when you’re ready to hit the road.
