Frost Fest @ Franconia!
Franconia Sculpture Park is excited to announce Frost Fest @ Franconia, a weekend-long holiday market and bazaar in Shafer, MN where shoppers will find unique gifts by local artisans and vendors. The event will coincide with the launch of Franconia’s free community ice rink. A combination of recreational ice-skating rink and artist installation open from 8 am-8 pm daily through February.

Shop the Fest!
Visitors are invited to shop from area vendors, enjoy a hot beverage in Franconia Commons, and converse by the bonfire outside on the patio. A full list of holiday market vendors will be announced mid-November 2020.
In addition to the vendors at Frost Fest, Franconia invites visitors to spend time in the Franconia Commons Gift Shop, where unique gifts by artists from across the United States can be purchased. Visitors can also shop all new branded Franconia merchandise such as t-shirts, beer steins, custom perfumes made by artists-in-residence incorporating Franconia flora, and even limited-edition organic honey made by Franconia’s bees-in-residence at the park’s apiary.

Take a Spin on the Ice Rink!
The centerpiece of the ice rink will highlight a new outdoor, site-specific light-sculpture by internationally-renowned artist Jason Peters. Jason Peters is a contemporary artist known for his ability to create transformative environments using found objects, light, and space. Born in Mobile, Alabama in 1977, he was raised in Munich, Germany, and has lived and worked in Brooklyn, New York for nearly twenty years, and his large-scale installations have been exhibited in the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, the Center for Contemporary Arts Santa Fe, Grounds for Sculpture, Katonah Museum of Art, and Times Square.
Franconia has welcomed nearly 180,000 visitors this 2020! Franconia Sculpture Park is the pre-eminent, artist-centered sculpture park in the Midwest. Founded in 1996, Franconia provides physically and intellectually wide-open spaces that inspire new ways of thinking through access to contemporary sculpture, installation, and land art. Located in the scenic St. Croix River Valley, Franconia operates a 43-acre outdoor museum, active artist residency program, and a depth and breadth of arts programming for a diverse and engaged public.
