BEST OF THE RIVER 2019 

Best of the River is focused on the best attractions, accommodations,  food & drink, and trails & tours along the Great River Road from northern Minnesota down to the Gulf of Mexico.

Best Campground

1.Pere Marquette State Park (Grafton, IL)

For visitors who prefer a rustic experience, Pere Marquette offers a wide range of camping opportunities. The campground has 80 sites, two of which are handicap accessible

2.Yellow River State Forest (Harpers Ferry, IA)

One quarter of the campsites are available for self registration on a first come first-serve basis.  Equestrian campsites available. One camping cabin is available to rent.

3.Columbus-Belmont State Park (Columbus, KY)

Relax amid beautiful settings on the river cliff campground with 38 sites, utility hookups and grills. A central building offers rest rooms, showers, and laundry facilities.

4.Grant River Recreation Area (Potosi, WI)

The campground features a tent camping area, 63 large RV sites, and is a popular family getaway spot offering great views of the main channel of the Mississippi River.

5.Perrot State Park (Trempealeau, WI)

Perrot State Park offers 102 campsites in their family campground and 4 walk-in group campsites that accommodate at least 20 people at each site.
